Margaret Kimball is the author of the graphic memoirs AND NOW I SPILL THE FAMILY SECRETS (HarperOne 2021), a Belletrist Book Club Selection, and A BRIEF HISTORY OF MY AFFAIRS (Pantheon 2025). Her writing has appeared in Creative Nonfiction, The Believer, LitHub, Ecotone, Black Warrior Review, South Loop Review, and many other places.

As an illustrator and hand letterer, she’s worked with clients like Verge, Smithsonian Magazine, Macy’s, Marks & Spencer, Boston Globe, Little, Brown, Simon & Schuster, Diageo, Ogilvy, Random House, and many others.

Margaret has been in residence at Yaddo and MacDowell. Born in Connecticut, she is married to the fiction writer Christian Moody and they live with their two children in Indianapolis.
