Choosing Sponsors

Just now, I introduced my very first sponsor on the website, Unconventional Guides. I’ve been thinking about sponsorship for a little while and finally decided that I wanted to choose carefully the brands I allow on the site, for the sake of my readers. And I want to use companies, brands, ideas that I think will benefit you in some way. And me. I just ordered my first eBook from U.G.

Unconventional Guides was established in 2008 by Chris Guillebeau, the writer behind The Art of Non-Conformity, an excellent blog chronicling his world travels and guiding others to lead the anti-9 to 5 type of life. So I like him. Obviously. I began downloading his guides and basically wanted to tell everyone I know about him. (Note: he’s been blogging for some time, I’m late to the game.)

Long story short, I believe in his mission and his products and that’s why they’re here on the site. The way it works is: every time you click on my link to his site and buy an eBook from him, you support both his company and my site. Also, they donate 10% of revenue to a charity which helps to bring clean water to Ethiopia (similar the prints in my shop which contribute to CEDO). So you’re supporting several causes at once. I just bought my first guide, Art + Money and I can’t wait to read it.

In other words, you can support the blogs you like by visiting their sponsors.
