Here are some images from the Design+Science Exhibition, which opened this week at the Kachina Gallery (also a lounge, in case you’re wondering about the tired looking students). I took these photographs just before the show opened. Many scientists and artists (even a few art historians) were in attendance. (Full disclosure: Photography is more of a, um, functional thing for me. Not so much a creative thing, so, um. Yea.)
These are a few of my posters (17 x 43″, pen and ink with digital color).
I decided not to mount them so as to maintain a kind of intimate/accessible experience with them.
The posters created by the designers working with the Marine Discovery class. Each poster represents a different research project.
The TARA Oceans posters. After this show, these will be taken to Biosphere 2 and hung for three years, the duration of the TARA expedition, of which the University of Arizona (proprietor of the Biosphere) is a part.
